The young adult homes ministry...

In the Bible, Jesus tells a story known as The Good Samaritan. In this story, a man is badly injured and left to die along a road. Two people pass him by, but a third (the Samaritan) stops to help and provides everything needed to save the man and help him get well. After telling the story, Jesus asks who the injured man's true neighbor was. The people listening to the story answer, "The one who had mercy on the man." To them, Jesus replies, "Go and do likewise."

In conjunction with long-term shelter, food, and clothing, we provide and coordinate social services, including mental health counseling, spiritual mentorship, life coaching, adoption services, and educational & vocational opportunities to the people we serve. This is how we go and do likewise.

Our Story

Moved by a powerful sermon delivered in a rural church in the early 1950's, a community couple donated farmland with a very simple goal: to build a home to care for children in need.

Moved by a powerful sermon delivered in a rural church in the early 1950's, a community couple donated farmland with a very simple goal: to build a home to care for children in need Those first needy children called our campus their home in 1954. We have grown and expanded over more than seven decades, and remain committed to our roots in a spirit of serving children, families and youth who need support, guidance and encouragement in a Christian environment. From humble beginnings, our heritage continues today with primary support from the generous donations of churches and individuals associated with churches of Christ.
